Neurofeedback At Home for Anxiety

Practitioner Supported Neurofeedback Therapy at Home

Do you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks? If so, Neurofeedback at Home may help. With this therapy, you can learn to control your brain functions and reduce symptoms associated with anxiety and panic. Anxiety and panic are intense feelings of fear and anxiety. Most people experience these emotions during tension-filled situations like before giving a speech, giving a test, or even while driving or going shopping.

We offer neurofeedback for anxiety, a treatment that uses your brain's natural ability to learn new things to help it self-regulate. From a branch of psychology known as behaviourism, neurofeedback uses a machine to help you receive biofeedback on your brain"s functions. This allows the machine to tailor the therapy to your specific needs, adjusting the level of difficulty as you go. With neurofeedback, you will learn to control your ability to relax, manage emotions, anticipate and solve problems, and become more self-aware. These skills can help manage any symptoms you may be struggling with.

Can Neurofeedback Control Panic and Anxiety?

Neurofeedback is not a "cure" for anxiety, but it does reduce symptoms associated with the disorder. Neurofeedback therapy is most effective at treating anxiety caused by abnormal neural regulation. The process, or algorithm, is tailored to your specific brain and needs. When the therapy is done correctly, it means that your brain learns to regulate itself.

Neurofeedback uses the waves produced in your brain to monitor your brain activity. The waves are then converted into images or graphs which can help you understand how your brain is currently functioning. Through the process, the machine can learn how to regulate your brain"s patterns. The therapy is non-invasive and painless.

A trained practitioner will oversee your therapy, which may take several sessions before you see results. The therapy varies in difficulty, depending on the particular anxiety issue and your needs.

How does it work?

Step 1. An Assessment & Plan

First of all we do an initial consultation with you to determine where you're at and what you'd like to achieve. Part of this involves a qEEG brain scan to map your current levels of brain activity. Using this information we'll develop your personalised NeuroFeedback Plan.

Step 2. Your Report of Findings & Training Session

During your second session you'll receive a detailed report on the current function of your brain and how best to make the improvements you want using home based NeuroFeedback. We'll train you on how to use the equipment. Some people like to book an additional training session. We can accomodate that as well.

Step 3. Do Your Home Based Training Sessions

You're then ready to get started on your home based NeuroFeedback. We're available if you have any questions or issues.

Step 4. Progress Review

Depending on how often you're training, after 15-25 sessions we typically book you a Progress Visit. In this visit we check in with you, assess your progress with a qEEG brain scan and some feedback questions. Using this information we'll develop your next personalised NeuroFeedback Plan. You can then continue your home based training.
